| With more than 15 years of film and television experience, Emmy Award winning producer and director Jeanne Begley has done it all – starting on the East Coast where she transformed her strong background in photography into a career in film. Jeanne worked on several independent projects in N
ew York (principally music videos and documentaries), and then headed west where she earned her M.A at the Cinema-Television School at USC.
After school it was work, work, work and she polished her skills in all phases of production and post-production, from cinematography to editing to writing.
Since 2001, Jeanne has spearheaded several highly-acclaimed television projects: Celebrity Fit Club, the hit reality series for VH1, several one-hour specials for ABC, the recent hit TLC series, My First Home, Planet Green’s flagship daily show g •word, as well as shows for NBC, Discovery, A&E, and AMC. She is currently producing an independent documentary on female artists as well as a pilot series for Food Network.
Prior to her freelance phase, Jeanne teamed up with Van Ness Films to produce, direct and write more than 20 hours of the A&E “Biography” series. She produced, directed and wrote some of the network’s highest-rated episodes including Henry Winkler, Tim Burton, Shirley MacLaine, Helena-Bonham Carter and the Emmy Award-winning 2-hour Jackie Gleason special.
With French citizenship, Begley’s international experience rounds out her resumé. While a resident of Paris she ran an independent screenwriting program, produced fashion videos for a Parisian design company and coordinated the efforts of American and British companies planning on filming in France. Jeanne also helped design the marketing manual for the launch of the children’s channel for French Television (TF1).
Jeanne is currently working on several reality productions, as well as pitching her own shows and trying to write a feature script, which is taking far longer than planned!
